File also includes a Christmas card from Elizabeth Pollock to John Koegler, and a page removed from a printed souvenir album containing a picture of C.E. File consists of architectural drawings of the proposed municipal building for the city of Kitchener. Plans are unsigned but are probably by W.H.E. Schmalz. Sheet one shows the ground floor plan, elevation of comfort station, comfort station floor plan, mezzanine floor plan. Sheet two shows the basement floor plan and the comfort station basement floor plan.

A promotional notebook published in 1912 by the Alaska Feather & Down Co., Montreal, used by Dorothy Russell to record movies, plays and concerts she attended in Kitchener, Ont., Toronto, Sarnia, Chatham and Chicago, 1921-1928. Included are the names of actors and actresses, the theatre and the date.

File consists of material relating to the publicity of the opening of Plant 6 in Kitchener's industrial park in 1966. Includes incoming and outgoing correspondence and memoranda, copies of news releases (some edited), 15 photographs of the plant (including several aerial shots) and the opening ceremonies, and a brochure about the plant. File also includes a typed copy of the remarks presented by Hon. Stanley J. Randall (Ontario Minister of Economics and Development), and a typed copy of the remarks presented by Hon. C.M. Five images of the Peter McArthur log house at Doon Pioneer Village (now Doon Heritage Crossroads) in Kitchener, Ont. Caption on the verso of the image used in the book states "Peter McArthur's log house now in the Pioneer Village, near Doon. Note overhang on both sides which is a very rare type of construction". Also includes a handwritten note regarding the building.

Three undated photographs of Dr. S.F. Leavine from his time in office with the City of Kitchener or in his capacity as M.P.P. for Waterloo North. Two of the photos, taken by the Kitchener-Waterloo Record, show Leavine in his office and at awards ceremony in honour of George W. Quick's service to the Kitchener Fire Department. The third photo, taken by Ontario Department of Travel and Publicity, Parliament Buildings, Toronto, Ont., shows Leavine as part of a group in the offices of the Minister of Planning and Development of the Province of Ontario, Hon. William McAdam Nickle.

Sheet two shows a first floor plan (in situ) a second floor plan and a third floor plan. File consists of a map of Kitchener-Waterloo depicting dates and types of aerial photography that had been mapped, and a study plan of parking facilities on Lancaster and Arnold streets in Kitchener. Both items prepared by the City of Kitchener, planning department.

Research : reverse osmosis advertising.

File consists of material relating to the production of advertising material for the Reverse Osmosis Division of Electrohome. Includes photographs, copy negatives, contact sheets, and a slide of reverse osmosis systems and applications; single-sheet advertisements for ultrafiltration systems soluble oil waste treatment and for maple sap concentration by reverse osmosis; and blank letterhead. Some of the photographs depict reverse osmosis systems at Bud Automotive (Kitchener, ON), TRW Canada Ltd. (St. Catharines, ON), Schwitzer (Stratford, ON), and an unidentified plant in Windsor, ON.

Some photographs have been mounted on board and retouched. Duplicate photographs are present.

File consists of two architectural drawings showing revisions to original plans of the YWCA for the second floor, ground floor kitchen, basement, and third floor laundry. Plans are by architectural firm Barnett, Rieder and Hymmen.

File consists of miscellaneous snapshots, most of which were probably accumulated by Martha Rieder. Includes snapshots of Martha Rieder, her children, and grandchildren, as well as other family members and friends. Talmon Henry Rieder is present in some snapshots. Many photographs include members of the families of John C. and Carrie Breithaupt, Albert and Louisa Breithaupt, and H. Milton and Ella Anthes Cook; Alma and Eva Rieder are also present in some photographs.

Photographs were taken at Penetanguishene, Georgian Bay, on Lake Huron, Port Dalhousie and other travel destinations; at various cottages; at the Rieder home at 58 Roy Street in Kitchener; and other locations. File also includes a colour print-out of a photograph Margaret Paisley [?] and an unidentified woman.

File contains negatives depicting Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's visit to Kitchener, as well as the re-dedication ceremony of the Kitchener cenotaph, during the Royal Tour of Ontario in 1973. Scenes include the Queen greeting various dignitaries including the Kitchener mayor, archdeacons, reverends, and veterans. Also included are views of the surrounding area and gathered crowd, as well as the Oxlea Tower, the Kitchener's Farmers’ Market and panorama shots of the event.

Royal Visit

File contains negatives of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's royal visit to Kitchener during the extended Ontario royal tour in 1973. Prince Philip accompanied the Queen. The negatives depict the royal couple at the Canadian National Railway (CNR) station in Kitchener boarding the royal train for the tour. Most of the negatives depict the Queen and Prince Philip waving from the back of the Caboose. The Krug Furniture factory in downtown Kitchener can be seen in the background.

Negatives show scenes of the royal couple arriving at the Kitchener Canadian National Railway (CNR) station for their departure to London, Ontario. Included are shots of the Queen signing a guest book on stage as well as receiving gifts from the cities of Kitchener and Waterloo. The Concordia’s choir and the Dutch Boy Cadets are also seen singing and playing music during the event.
