The majority of clippings in this file relate to the controversial property development proposed for the Thornhill site and the refusal of Elizabeth Smith, the owner of the house, to surrender it to the developer who owns the land it stands on.

The typescript notes and some of the clippings describe the life of Ann Preston, who emigrated from Ireland in 1830 and worked as a servant in Dr. Reid's family home on the Thornhill Estate, as well as the origins of Ann's Prayer Shed and Well. A photograph which appears to depict Ann's Prayer Shed is also contained in this file. Some of the correspondence contained in this file (1973) took place between Mr. and Mrs. Clark and William G. Davis, Premier of Canada, and relates to Holy Ann's cottage and Annswell, located on the on the property.
