Memorial exhibit typescripts and pamphlets

Series contains leaflets relating to Homer Watson’s life and memorial exhibits. Leaflets contain information about memorial exhibits such as one held by the Waterloo Trust and Savings Company building in Kitchener. One of the leaflets also contains a photocopied sketch of a graveyard scene. The series also contains a typescript biography of Watson written by his friend, Ross Hamilton. Another typescript covers a speech by Watson to shareholders of the Waterloo County Grand River Park. The speech calls for the conservation of a woodland area called Cressman Bush.

Series consists of records relating to the administration and the potential sale of A & C Boehmer Limited (Kitchener, ON), accumulated and used by Carl A. Pollock and John A. Pollock in their roles as company directors. The company operated as the Boehmer Box Co., a family-run paper box manufacturing company established in 1874 in Kitchener. Carl Pollock was a director, secretary-treasurer, and vice-president of the company.

In 1974, the directors authorized Floyd Boehmer (president), Carl Pollock, and John Pollock to attempt the sale of the company, but it is unclear whether the company was actually sold at that time. Series includes financial statements, correspondence, memoranda, reports, agreements, ms. notes, and other material.

Series consists of environmental monitoring raw data in the form of anemograph charts (1955-1970), gauge cards (1955-1967), rainfall charts (1955-1959, 1971) and snow surveys (1963-1964). An anemograph chart is a paper record of the direction and force of the wind; gauge cards contain data recorded manually by gauge readers at gauge stations along the Grand River; rainfall charts contain daily entries recording rainfall; snow surveys consist of booklets containing pre-printed pages for entering snow data. Although this data is not complete it is nonetheless important for providing a means whereby climatic and environmental change over time can be analyzed.

Company Newsletters

Series consists of company newsletters, produced and distributed for internal communications and publicity purposes. The Cobbler, published by the Greb Shoes Employees' Association, was begun in 1952. It was replaced with the Greb Newshound in 1962, and was published until [ca. 1971?]. In 1978, a new company newsletter, Greb Footnotes, was launched. Series may not include a complete run of any one publication, and some issues may be missing.

Series consists primarily of issues of the newsletter produced by the association for its membership. The newsletter contains association reports, announcements of upcoming events and exhibitions, information and tips on art techniques and materials, reports from other art associations and organizations, advertisements, etc. Most issues also contain a list of the association executive and advisory directors. Series includes issues of the Five Counties Art Association Bulletin (1955-1964), Central Ontario Art Association Bulletin (1964-1970), and the Central Ontario Art Association Newsletter (1982-1998). Series also includes page proofs (i.e. before photocopying) of newsletter issues (1982-1998), correspondence and memoranda, brochures and flyers, photographs, and handwritten notes.
