General note
Photo caption from published version of 52-3849_005: "MAPLE SYRUP TIME - Come March and all hands on the Amon Martin farm near Heidelberg will be heading for the sugar bush. There is no need for anyone in Waterloo County to depend on Quebec for supply of maple sugar. Mr. Martin gathers the sap in two large tanks on a sleigh and dumps it into an underground cistern. The hand pump on the raised stand near the roof is used to raise the sap to a trough which runs into a large evaporator in the shanty."
