Several press clippings and news releases are related to accusations brought against Telegdi by Conservative party candidates during the election campaign. Telegdi was accused of making a racial slur when he served as the President of the Federation of Students (now the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association) at the University of Waterloo in 1974. Telegdi’s remarks from 1974 were quoted in a campus newspaper at the time.

Also includes letters of congratulations received by Telegdi after he was elected and a certificate of election bearing Canada’s coat of arms and the official seal of the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada.
