          Consists of videocassette recording of slide-show presentation of the annual Grand River Conservation Authority Special Recognition Awards. The slide-show provides background on recipients and highlights the activities that led to their selection.

          Also includes a slide-show presentation of the activities of Mary Welsh, Brantford, Ont., GRCA Honor Roll recipient, 1997. Ms. Welsh was instrumental in the creation of the Brant Waterways Foundation in 1988 and served as its Secretary in 1997. The Brant Waterways Foundation works to preserve, protect and restore waterways and their associated lands in Brant County, Ont.

          Three television advertisements (commercials) for Breton crackers, a line of cracker products made by Dare Foods Limited. The commercials were produced with Stringer Veroni Ketchum Advertising agency. The commercials are titled, “No Truth,” “Everyone Claims,” and “Great Debate.” Individually, the running time for each commercial is 30 seconds.

          The commercial titled, “No Truth” is repeated twice on the videocassette.

          The commercial titled, “Everyone Claims” is repeated three times on the videocassette. In the third instance of “Everyone Claims,” the commercial features alternate endings.

          The commercial titled, “Great Debate” is repeated twice on the videocassette.

          Approximately halfway through the total running time of the videocassette, there is a short recording of a clip from the television series, Royal Canadian Air Farce, in which Breton crackers are mentioned.

          At the end of the videocassette, there are two gag reels featuring outtakes from the filming of all three commercials.

          The videocassette was originally housed in a case labeled, "RealFruit Dummies - Cowboys Sept./96.” This label does not reflect the contents of the videocassette.

          Two DVDs each containing an identical compilation of various television advertisements (commercials) created between 1966 and 2002 for products made by Dare Foods Limited. Some of the advertisements are recorded in English and some are recorded in French. Copies of these commercials were originally donated to Special Collections & Archives on videocassettes in accession GA163. The videocassettes were digitized in 2006 by Dare Foods Limited and made available on the DVDs in this file.
