Sims writes about his trip to Puerto Rico to assess risks on behalf of his company: he summarizes and comments on Puerto Rico's climate, landscape, history, people, American interest, Catholic Church, Spanish rule, agriculture, sugar cane production: "I thought I had retired from active work but I am at is as hard as ever and I enjoy it. I do not know if the trip will do the Co. any good. The conditions are all new to me."

Correspondence is among executor Hugo Wellein, executor H. Milton Cook, real estate agent John Findlay, individuals at Ames Holden McCready, and others.
Also present are drafts of some outgoing letters by Martha, a financial statement of the estate, an agreement regarding mortgage bonds of Ames Holden McCready, and a certified copy of a resolution passed at the April 26, 1922, annual meeting of Ames Holden McCready regarding the death of Rieder.

Typewritten letter from William Lyon Mackenzie King to his nephew Arthur King on July 27, 1934. King advises Arthur, having heard that he had to give up on a course because of chicken-pox, to put his health ahead of everything else in order to fully recuperate. King reports on the “gratifying” election results in Ontario and Saskatchewan, and anticipates a general election. King reports that the past winter’s arthritis has disappeared, also that he has been to Williamsburg to see Dr. Locke[1] and is wearing Locke shoes [for fallen arches]. In regard to his nephews’ chosen professions of medicine and engineering, King says “The service which can be rendered the world through electrical development has become more apparent in our age than in all the centuries of the past, and I believe that we are only at the beginning of discoveries in that field which will revolutionize the thought, as well as the daily life and habits of the people. “

The letter discuss family members, including D's wife and two children recently being unwell as well as the weather and the hope for more rain. D teases Simon about becoming a "Yankee" and moving to "Pensyltucky" [a portmonteau of Pennsylvania and Kentucky] and mentions that he will be going to Toronto for the Toronto Industrial Exhibition [now the Canadian National Exhibition]. The letter also discusses D selling a property of Simon's referred to as "Mt. Zion."
