Album containing photographs of the construction of the Dominion Tire Company manufacturing plant in what was then Berlin, Ontario. Includes photographs of the construction process, the surrounding land, the interior and exterior of the building during construction, equipment used the tire manufacturing process and employees on the factory floor, etc. Although the majority of the people are unidentified the following people appear in the album: Talmon Henry Rieder (page 1), [Ed Cable?] and Irene Bain (page 3), Dr. Wood (page 6), and J.I. Franklin Anthes (page 9 and 53).

Material created or accumulated by Andrew Telegdi during his tenure as a Member of Parliament related to Focus for Ethnic Women (FEW), an organization in the Waterloo Region that provides job training and skill development as well as counselling and information services for immigrant and visibly minority women. Records include handwritten notes, flyers and brochures outlining the organization’s mission and values, programs, and services as well as correspondence concerning the loss of work placements funded by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (now Employment and Social Development Canada). Also includes a copy of FEW’s newsletter, Focus on Focus!, vol. 3, issue 1 (summer-fall 2005).

Group portrait of people gathered for an outdoors event. In the foreground are men and women sitting on makeshift benches, in the background are several individuals on a podium with a large lectern, surmounted by an arbour of branches. The whole group is in a wooded area. The photograph is annotated on the back: "Waterloo, Ont., Aug. 11/07" with a monogram, possibly CKR[itzer?]. It is possible the photograph commemorates an event connected to the 50th anniversary of the incorporation of the Village of Waterloo in 1857.

Competition for city hall, Kitchener, Ont.

File consists of architectural drawings for the proposed Kitchener city hall, by W.H.E. Schmalz. The plans are dated Oct. 10, 1921. A small moon drawing is present where an architect's signature would usually be found. Sheet one shows two elevations and a cross section, sheet two shows four floor plans (ground floor, first floor and two small rooms), sheet three shows a basement floor plan and a block plan.

A sound recording of an interview conducted by Dr. Anne Millar with Anita Layton, the Canada 150 Research Chair in Mathematical Biology and Medicine, and Professor of Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Pharmacy, and Biology at the University of Waterloo, for the Oral History Hub pilot project. The interview includes discussions about Layton's family background, their decision to come to Waterloo and the path that brought them here, as well as their thoughts about the institution and where it will be at 100 years old, in 2057. Additional topics include Hong Kong, immigration, Duke University, computer science, University of Toronto, the two-body problem, Canada 150 Research Chair, Associate Dean for Research, health research, gender equity, diversity, sex difference, and race difference. The interview was conducted virtually from Waterloo, Ontario. File also contains a transcript of the interview.

Two of the photos, taken by the Kitchener-Waterloo Record, show Leavine in his office and at awards ceremony in honour of George W. Quick's service to the Kitchener Fire Department. The third photo, taken by Ontario Department of Travel and Publicity, Parliament Buildings, Toronto, Ont., shows Leavine as part of a group in the offices of the Minister of Planning and Development of the Province of Ontario, Hon.
