Material created or accumulated by Andrew Telegdi during his tenure as a Member of Parliament predominately related to legislation introduced to amend or replace the 1977 Citizenship Act including Bill C-373 An Act to amend the Citizenship Act, Bill C-417 Code of Canadian Citizenship, Bill C-271 An Act to amend the Citizenship Act, and Bill C-18 Citizenship of Canada Act. The material documents Telegdi’s personal interest and political involvement in amending the legislation, particularly clauses concerning citizenship revocation for naturalized citizens. In addition, the documents highlight the opinions and concerns of members of the public as well as efforts of other politicians to amend citizenship legislation.
