General note
53-5174_001 and a photo missing from envelope appeared on Page 3 of the Monday, March 2, 1953 edition of the newspaper as part of the article: "SMASH SAFE - Thieves escaped with an estimated $800 when they blew the safe at the Strand Bowling Alley early Sunday. The hotel room window from which the thieves are believed to have operated can be seen above the bowling alley window (top photo) [photo missing from envelope] some 50-feet across a flat roof. They smashed lower left pane and opened door to gain entry. Detective Charles Bignell (lower photo) [53-5174_001] examines the smashed safe."
