General note
Photo caption from published versions of 47-655_001 and photo missing from envelope: "BIG GUNS DISPLAYED - Officially opening a recruiting campaign for active and reserve forces, an army circus, under the command of Capt. E. H. Shuter, visited Kitchener yesterday. Displaying big guns, a German "buzz bomb," and other military vehicles, the parade was on display in front of the Post Office. Top photo [missing from envelope, no suitable substitute] shows a 5.5 gun capable of firing 100-pound shells. Below [47-655_001], an inquisitive crowd examines a 40-mm self propelled gun."
