Maines Pincock Family fonds.

Fonds consists of material documenting the lives, interests and activities of Jenny Pincock, as well as her sister and brother-in-law Minnie and Fred Maines. The main focus of the fonds is the activities surrounding their interest in spiritualism. Includes correspondence; ms. and ts. seance transcripts and notes; ms. and ts. notes for and drafts of poems and other literary compositions by Jenny Pincock; clippings, ephemera, etc.

Ghent, Mildred : correspondence received, 1941.

Nine pieces of correspondence from Jenny Pincock to Mildred and Percy Ghent. Topics include Edna Breithaupt and Wakunda, going for tea with Phoebe Watson, art, writing, plans, etc. Includes poetry. She adds a note in one letter asking to be an adopted aunt to Nancy and Arthur, "Aunt Jane, Janet or Helena," and thereafter signs the letters "Jenny Secunda," "Aunt Janet Secunda," and simply "Secunda." "Mr. and Mrs. Ghent" are addressed as "Mildred" or "Dear Inspiration Family." The letters are written from 65 Heins Ave. in Kitchener and from Madoc.

Contains clippings relating to the history of Waterloo County, notably Homer Watson, Doon, the Waterloo County Centennial in 1952, the Conestoga Wagon, early architecture and homes, Mabel Dunham, and other clippings. Includes a copy of the Kitchener-Waterloo record special ossue "Kitchener's first 100 years," June 22, 1954.

Contains a summary report of the activities and list of members of the Kitchener-Waterloo Centre of the Women's Voluntary Services, Department of National War Services, ca. 1946; Kitchener Y.M.C.A. Annual report, 1949; Waterloo Trust and Savings Company history by Edna Staebler; Conservation by the Grand Valley Conservation Authority, ca. 1946; two issues of Our Valley, 1957 and 1958, souvenir programme for "Stop and go : a musical revue," a wrap-up production of the Entertainment Committee of the Citizens Committee for Troops in Training, Toronto, 1946.

Clippings dating from 1928 to 1953 on a variety of topics, probably belonging to Minnie Maines. Includes clippings relating to artists, authors and other prominent figures, to the Y.M.C.A., Y.W.C.A., copies of "The Homemaker" column., and clippings relating to World War II. Includes an undated booklet on Astronomy by Prof. C.A. Chant " covering the requirements in badges for Trail Rangers and Tuxis boys, Canadian Standard Efficiency Training," and a 1953 booklist from the London Spiritualist Alliance.

This folder actually contains material on a variety of topics and probably belonged to F.J.T. Maines. Includes two envelopes of material dating from 1915-1916. These include manuscript material: untitled sermon (?) on loyalty and war, 7 leaves; a hymn with music; a second untitled ms. sermon, 4 p.; manuscript notes on "Christian brotherhood". Includes ephemera and pamphlets produced for troops "On Active Service." Includes clippings relating to the war, to politics, and to topics of interest to F.J.T. Maines. A third gathering of material dates from 1931- 1939 and consists of clippings on topics such as world politics, Grey Owl, Niagara Falls, hawks, liquor legislation, poems, letters to the editor, etc.

Contains material relating to the Church of Divine revelation in St. Catharines, Ontario, Rev. F.J.T. Maines, Minister and to its Radiant Healing Centre. Includes ephemera, printed "form of service", manuscript and typsecript notes (in more than one hand), drafts prepared for forms and literature distribution.
