Photographs relating to the Kitchener Water Commission depict construction of water works facilities, pump houses, and pumping equipment mainly at the Shoemaker (now Greenbrook) and Strange Street pumping stations. Some photographs include the water commissioners. Photographs relating to the GRCC depict the the construction of the Shand and Conestogo dams.
Series also includes a mid-19th century portrait and cartes-de-visite of unidentified women and men, perhaps friends or relatives of the Pequegnat family.

Annual meeting files contain lists of commission members for the year commencing, also correspondence form the various municipalities re attendance, members, etc.

Series consists of files belonging to E.F. Roberts, Secretary Treasurer of the Grand River Conservation Commission, dating from 1942 until 1960 concerning all aspects of the organization, administration and operations of the Commission. The Secretary-Treasurer's position was where all roads crossed with one person overseeing finance and accounting; personnel; land acquisition and management; dam project management; relations with municipalities, government departments and ordinary citizens; environmental monitoring and reforestation. Includes correspondence, financial statements accompanied by supporting invoices etc., minutes, reports, clippings, land deeds, blueprints, sketches and ephemera. The early years of E.F. Roberts tenure are not well represented in these records, most likely the result of a space-saving exercise conducted at some time in the past.

Major projects of Ecoplans included urban forestry, water quality and environmental design as well as numerous highway and pipeline projects for the Province of Ontario. Approximately 100 plans were completed between 1970 and 1987 in which Dorney was able to "explore and demonstrate how environmentally science can be the basis of rational, less costly and pleasing development." Series contains publications and drafts of plans and projects undertaken by Ecoplans as well as some working and personal materials.
