Series consists of files of photographs accumulated and used mainly by Robert Lovell in his role as Public Relations Manager (from 1963 to ca. 1988) for internal and external publicity purposes. Series consists of categorized hanging pages and boxes of slides primarily concerned with natural features, buildings and programs associated with Grand River Conservation Authority conservation areas. Also contains slides relating to GRCA water management and land use programs and general topics such as conservation techniques, educational programs and the Grand Valley Conservation Foundation.

The slides are organized topically in hanging pages. A ts. listing of the slide collection by topic including alphabetical codes to the storage system is included. The slides are in no particular order within each topical section; some of the slides are not present.

Publicity : Internal Publications

Series consists of company newsletters and bulletins, produced and distributed for internal communications and publicity purposes.

The employee newsletter Sparks and Chips was begun by Carl A. Pollock to foster inter-employee relationships and management-employee relations. The first issue was published on December 18, 1942, with Pollock as the first editor. It ran until ca. 1977. In 1980, a new company newsletter, Electrohome Update, was introduced to provide employees news on company people, products, and policies. In 1990, this newsletter was merged with Electrohome World, which contained news of the corporation's marketing activities for the dealer/distributor network in North America and abroad; the new Electrohome World was published for employees and dealer/distributors. Sparks and Chips: the next generation was introduced in 1994 as an informal newsletter for reporting plant activities, news, and ideas.

Several other internal newsletters and bulletins were published over the history of Electrohome.

Series also includes material collected and used by John Koegler in his role as company historian, which he assumed ca. 1956.

This series contains book reviews of Eric McCormack's works of fiction including Inspecting the Vaults, The Paradise Motel, The Mysterium, and First Blast of the Trumpet Against the Monstrous Regiment of Women. Some press announcements for these works of fiction are also contained in this series. This series also includes reviews of anthologies in which a short-story by Eric McCormack is contained.

Series consists of material relating to the proposal, production, distribution, and lanuch of the corporate history Visionary Thinking : The Story of Canada's Electrohome by Raymond Stanton, published by Canadian Corporate Histories (Kitchener, ON) in 1997. Includes files of research material about the history of Electrohome, probably compiled by Nicola McLaughlin for Stanton's use, and files of visual material used in the book, pulled from other files in the collection most likely by McLaughlin.

Series consists of records relating to the administration of the COAA and to the association membership, accumulated by various individuals in the association. Records primarily relate to the development of the constitution and by-laws, the maintenance of membership lists for the COAA and for the association's teachers' council, and to some specific positions and committees: president, secretary, secretary-treasurer, and program committee. Series includes correspondence; membership lists; minutes of annual, executive, and teachers' council meetings (including the original minute book); the association constitution and by-laws (as well as drafts of these); reports; notebooks and handwritten notes; flyers, event programs, and exhibitors' lists; and other material. The series is not comprehensive in that not all years are equally documented and not all aspects of the association's administration and governance are represented in the records.

This series contains correspondence sent by or received by Mary Johnston as well as other administrative and legal documents maintained by her relating to the activities and affairs of the teachers' organizations of which she was a member. These include the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario, The Federation of Women Teachers' Associations of Ontario, the Waterloo County Board of Education, and the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association.

This series also includes materials maintained by Mary Johnston when she worked for the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association in various capacitites including Key Teacher, President of Unit 1, as a W.C.W.T.A. Past President, as the association's County Adviser and P.R., and as a member of the Book Project Committee.

Also included in this series is a file containing correspondence sent to parents by Mary Johnston when she worked with the Kindergarten at Brighton School.

Political Portfolio Chairperson's Files : Robert Topp

Series consists of material created and accumulated by Robert Topp in his role as Chair of the Political Portfolio and its Taxation Committee (1994-1995) and member of the Political Portfolio and Chair of its Taxation Committee (1995-1996).

The Political Portfolio was involved in political and tax-related issues, and during this period was especially focused on property taxation and a group appeal of the 1992 property assessment to the Assessment Review Board launched in 1995 on behalf of over 1000 MLA members with property on Lakes Muskoka, Rosseau, and Joseph.

The appeal resulted in a decision favourable for the association that was then appealed by the Assessment Commissioner to the Ontario Municipal Board, where the association was partly successful and was granted leave to appeal to the Ontario Divisional Court.

Series includes correspondence (some drafts), reports, presentations, newspaper clippings (some photocopied), ARB and OMB notices and decisions, lists of members of the group appeal, handwritten notes, news releases, and other material.

Series consists of financial records for Electrohome and its subsidiary companies, including Hawkesville Lumber (acquired 1965), Campbell Electric (acquired 1960), International Electrohome (incorporated 1962), Electrohome Communications (incorporated 1970), and Flexsteel Industries (Canada) (acquired 1972). Series also includes material compiled for presentations to the Canadian government's Enterprise Development Board, which insured part of a $25 million term loan to the company from the Royal Bank of Canada in 1977. Schneider, Inc., its history, employees, and sale to Smithfield in 1998 including the construction of the new plant in 1924, trucks used over the years, employees and employee activities such as picnics, the Schneider Male Chorus, and employee service in World War II. Primarily photographic and topical in nature, the series contains correspondence, clippings, ephemera, newsletters, photographs, negatives, and slides.

Events and Activities: Annual Dinners.

This series includes materials relating to the annual dinners of the Federation of Women Teachers' Associations of Ontario, of the Ontario Teachers' Federation, and of the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association. These materials include a small number of col. photographs, as well as booklets produced for guests who attended these dinners. The contents of these booklets vary depending on the organization involved but typically include menus, programs, agendas, biographical notes on retiring teachers to be honoured at these dinners, as well as lists of past presidents, executive members, committtee chairs, key teachers, twenty-five year members, and retiring members. Some files just include flyers which were sent out to organization members featuring details of the date, location etc. of these annual dinners.

Series consists of materials relating to Jerzy Pindera's life during World War II and his time as a prisoner of war in Sachsenhausen concentration camp during the Holocaust.
