Fonds consists of material relating to the life and career of George Elmore Reaman. His position as superintendent of the Bowmanville Training School for Boys and later of the Glen Lawrence School is represented by clippings, photographs and ephemera. His interest in a wide variety of topics, including psychology, education, agriculture and history are represented by correspondence, research files and manuscripts. Typescripts of two unpublished novels "What Sorrow Beyond Sorrows" and "Strangers on the Earth" are also present. Fonds is arranged in eight series as follows:

Includes copies of photographs from the Public Archives and National Museum of Canada of coverlets, objects, portraits, etc. Includes information about the Stong farm, site of the Black Creek Pioneer Village, as well as a 14 p. publication on the history of Vaughan Township "A brief history of the early settlers on this line, including Langstaff P.O., Yonge St. and as far west as the fifth concession line, gotten up by Henry Horne, Postmaster of langstaff P.O., from facts collected by a resident of Concord."

File consists of correspondence to and from G. Elmore Reaman concerning his research on Pennsyvania German and Quaker history for what was to become his book Trail of the Black Walnut. Correspondents include his friend historian Arthur D. Graeff, Marius Barbeau, Thoman B. Costain, Norman Fee (acting Dominion Archivist), G. D. Conant. Includes correspondence from the Carl Schurz memorial Foundation naming Reaman an honorary fellow. Includes manuscripts with titles "Transplants in Ontario, Canada" (ts. original, 6 leaves) and "The Pennsylvania Germans in Ontario" (ts. original, 5 leaves), each with pencil corrections.
