Photo caption from published version of 72-01-03_002: "GIFT FROM INDIA. Dean A. N. Sherbourne, Engineering, is seen receiving colourful Indian rug, with UW crest hand woven into it. Rug was presented to Faculty of Engineering last week by Thapar College of Engineering, Patiala, India, through Prof. Om Dutt (presently with School of Architecture). Thapar College of Engineering had associations with UW since three of its faculty members came here for graduate studies. (Until now, eight faculty members and graduates have come to UW for higher studies.) Department of Design donated some books to that College in 1968, to help in development of program in Environmental Design; the College has now reciprocated by presenting above rug as a token of appreciation."
