General note
51-2400_001, 51-2400_002, 51-2400_003, 51-2400_004 and photos missing from envelope appeared on Page 11 of the Saturday, September 22, 1951 edition of the newspaper as part of the photo feature: "Conservation Murals Depict 'Our River Valley - Past and Present'".
General note
Photo caption from published version of photos: "STRESS CONSERVATION - Seven murals by Selwyn Dewdney of London, Ont., painted for the Grand River Conservation Authority, were "unveiled" before hundreds of school children at the Galt Fair (upper right) [see 51-2400_005 for closest version]. The murals, described as "an important method of putting across the necessity of conservation," will be exhibited in communities throughout the Grand River watershed. The theme of the artist's work, "Our River Valley - Past and Present," stresses the need for proper soil and river management."
General note
Dewdney's illustrations also appear in the publication The Trail of the Conestoga : Waterloo County centennial 1852-1952 (G8289).
