General note
Photo caption from published photos: "BEFORE AND AFTER - This classroom typifies the general scene in Kitchener schools yesterday at the moment an air raid alert sounded, sending the children and teachers into the halls and basement for safety. The raid test was part of a massive civil defence exercise in which 5,500 students took part. The students (left) [see 57-9839_008 for closest version] abandoned their class work on the desks (right) [no suitable substitute] as they walked in orderly fashion from their rooms."
