Photo caption from published version of 48-823_001: "FIRST GRADUATION CHOIR - a group of 30 girls from 12 to 18 years of age, students and graduates at Courtland Ave. School, recently banded together to form the Twin City's first graduation choir. With a sincere desire to sing, the girls meet in the evening to practise and will make their first public appearance shortly. Garfield Bender, Kitchener public school music director, leads the group. Shown with the group, left to right, are Miss Beatrice Uttley, Mr. Bender and Gordon Loney, school principal."
