Biographical history
The Student Alumni Association (SAA) was a volunteer student organization overseen by the Office of Alumni Affairs dedicated to strengthening connections between students, alumni, and the University of Waterloo, while fostering lifelong alumni engagement and enhancing student life. The association’s initiatives included the establishment of the Alumni Lane campaign, the distribution of final exam survival kits, serving as ambassadors during campus events, conducting campus tours, and hosting a variety of events such as dance-a-thons and book sales.

Scope and content
The second costume worn by Pounce de Lion, the University of Waterloo alumni mascot, for appearances at campus and community events. Consisting of a head, bodysuit, two feet covers, a hockey jersey, and a bandana, this version featured a noticeably rounder face, a less prominent mane, and long whiskers, distinguishing it from the original costume. Created by local costume designers Jocelyne Sobeski and Marian Marshall, with financial support from the Student Alumni Association, the costume was commissioned to replace the original Pounce de Lion suit as it showed signs of age and wear from regular use.
