Scrapbook created by John Gartshore Martin about his experiences in WWII. Includes snapshots, newspaper clippings, ephemera, and correspondence. Snapshots were taken during John's training in Canada and his time in Europe, and show sporting events; fellow officers and soldiers; towns, buildings, and countryside in Normandy, Belgium and Holland; tanks and other equipment; a post-war ceremony; and other subjects.

Scrapbook includes a telegram from John's parents informing him of his brother Jamie's death, ts. Information relating to battles, a letter to Jessie Martin regarding John's DSO, and other items. Clippings relate to John's involvement in the war and his decoration with the DSO by the Governor General Viscount Alexander. The scrapbook pages are not in order and have been left as found. Some pages contain identification for the photographs.

File consists of one trip diary kept by Florence Bray. The diary details trips to Europe (1926), California (1938 & 1939), New York and Atlantic City (1932), Virginia (1950), Florida (1930 & 1938), Scotland (1892), Gaspe (1946), Muskoka (1946). Also included in the diary are addresses of people met while on trips, a list of hotels stayed in and a fold out map of the United States and Mexico. The 1926 trip to Europe is of particular interest, with descriptions of major European cities and First World War battlefields.

Series consists of material accumulated by Ivan W. Keffer relating to his career at the F.W. Woolworth Co. after his appointment to executive vice-president. Material relates to the performance of the company, the German company, and Keffer's work and personal interests in Germany. A small amount of material relates to his actual role as executive vice-president in North America. Series includes correspondence (from colleagues; some may also be personal), reports, legal documents, clippings, a speech, meeting minutes, photographs, and other material.

File consists of a booklet containing 12 black and white postcards [rotogravure prints?] with views of Berlin.

File consists of photographs of Keffer and his family, most of which appear to have been taken while they were living in Germany. Includes snapshots of Keffer, his wife, Mary, and his daughter Mary Jane around their home, on outings or travelling, and participating in activities including golf and skiing. File also includes a portrait of Keffer's wife; a snapshot of Norman Schneider; and photographs taken at a figure skating competition or show.

File consists of a photograph of a group of men standing on a street in front of several buildings during the visit of Mr. R.C. Kirkwood in Frankfort from February 22-27, 1961. The men are identified by surname on an accompanying piece of paper (typescript).

Correspondence primarily between members of the Sommer family. Of special interest is a letter written by Eduard Höpken on May 29, 1965 revealing that he was a dedicated member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany since 1930. Eduard claimed that he reinstated his support for the political party after 1945. In this letter, Eduard wrote about the development of laws to provide the state increased control during emergencies. Also contains correspondence between the Sommer family and Friederich Joachim. Friederich Joachim adopted Ulrich Sommer as an adult and he lived in Germany. Records include letters, post cards, birth announcements, and a funeral invitation.

Correspondence primarily between members of the Sommer family. Includes letters sent between Gisela Sommer and Ulrich Sommer that were written while Gisela visited her parents in Germany. Of special interest are German press clippings about the development of the German Democratic Republic in the 1980s. Records include letters, greeting cards, and press clippings.

Of special interest is a family newsletter written on January 6, 1971 by Eduard and his wife Elisabeth Höpken that provides biographical information about their children including Gisela Sommer and her husband Ulrich Sommer, Johann Höpken, Walter Höpken, Karl Höpken, Wilhelm Höpken, and Peter Höpken. Records include letters and postcards.

Correspondence primarily between members of the Sommer family. Includes letters interspersed with details about family life such as Ulrich Sommer and his wife Gisela Sommer’s immigration to Canada with their two children Cornelius Sommer and Angelika Sommer in 1954. Also contains letters confirming Ulrich and Gisela Sommer passed an exam designed for new Canadians that was established by the Government of Ontario’s Department of Education Information Branch. Records include letters, greeting cards, postcards, children’s drawings, pamphlets, hand-drawn floor plans, wallpaper samples, a cross-stitch sampler, and photographs of family members.

Two original typed copies of a manuscript titled, "Computer education in Ontario secondary schools" by G.C. Bonham and Donald Cowan. One copy of the manuscript is thirty-three pages and the other copy is twenty-eight pages. The paper was published in the Proceedings of the first International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) World Conference on Computer Education held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands between August 24-28, 1970.

Material created or accumulated by Andrew Telegdi during his tenure as a Member of Parliament documenting his personal interest and political involvement in matters relating to Canadian-Hungarian relations. Many records detail Telegdi’s diplomatic trip to Hungary to attend the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe in 1994 with Jean Chrétien, Prime Minister of Canada, and Telegdi’s participation in the 1996 Jimmy Carter Work Project building detached homes in Gödöllő, Hungary. Also includes material related to the decoration of Telegdi’s mother, Elenora “Nora” Telegdi, with the Small Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary for her activities for Hungarian communities beyond Hungary’s borders. Records include correspondence, news releases, conference material, invitations, tickets, programs, and other textual material.

Material created or accumulated by Andrew Telegdi during his tenure as a Member of Parliament documenting his personal interest and political involvement in matters relating to Canadian-Hungarian relations. Many records detail events and activities held in Hungary in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of revolutions that swept across Europe in 1848.
