Also includes a letter written by Janet Land to Dampa regarding an attached photograph of Bill and Betty Forbes along with their children.

Several entries describe Betty’s work in British Columbia, family events, dances, a trip to Alaska, holidays, and Peg Forbes’s wedding to Colin Andrew (Joe) Wilson. The diary contains letters, invitations, lists, a patch, and press clippings including one titled, Girls advised to train for career and marriage published in The Globe and Mail on January 27, 1948.

Article "C.W.A. Meet, Waterloo, July 1st and 2nd," Saturday Globe, June 22, 1895: [1]. This article concerns the annual meet of the C.W.A. [Canadian Wheelman's Association?] to be held in Waterloo, Ont. in 1895. Joseph E. Seagram was Honorary President of the Waterloo Bicycle Club and donated a horse as a prize for this meet. The article also includes two images of the Waterloo Bicycle Club Track, as well as portraits of local individuals: D. Hybner, Mayor, Berlin; Simon Snyder, Mayor, Waterloo; Waterloo Bicycle Club officers J.W. Fear, J.M. Scully, Geo. Wegenast, F.G. Hughes, A.H. Snyder, C.W. Wells; also W.G. Roos, C.H. Froelich.

Contains one black leather bound notebook used by Frederick Arthur Edmonds as a diary. The notebook is ruled, contains some numbered pages, and opens lengthwise. Entries are dated and sporadic, are written in pencil, and include a chart of the names of soldiers from the 16th Platoon, with their identification number, rank, age, marital status, date of arrival in France, religion, next of kin, trade, and courses. Includes a loose leaf of paper in the front pocket of the notebook, and several blank pages. The diary entries are titled "My diary since leaving the 'Ypres Salient'", and detail the movement of troops, destinations, times leaving and arriving places, encampments, training progress, weather, distances from place to place in kilometres, locations of battles, places billeted, conditions in the trenches, descriptions of battles, objectives, conditions, attacks, general notes about casualties, tanks, mines, and descriptions of Edmonds' stay in the Paris Plaz hospital and Le Havre hospital. The diary goes up until just before Vimy Ridge, when Edmonds is invalided home.

Included here is a record of the indebtedness of his brothers Arthur Benjamin Schantz and Austin Tobias Schantz in connection with their ranching and farming venture in Didsbury, Alberta, as well as a record and valuation of horses owned. Expected income from investments and securities is listed. One of two loose papers included is an invoice for a pistol purchased parcel post by Constable Clarke Russell, 1931.

Also includes one print of the identical portrait with a poem. Item may be a funeral card. Identification from verso with birth date as 1819 and death as 1903. Identification is uncertain however, as a print with a poem about the woman identifies the woman as Nancy Fry (possibly familiar form of Anna).
Poem reads:
We meet, in thankfulness to-day,
For blessings showered on our way.
May all our hearts with love abound
As once again we gather round
The heartstone of Aunt Nancy.
