The mace was presented to the University of Waterloo in memory of Stanley Francis Leavine, M.D., a charter member of the University’s Board of Governors, by his wife, Mrs. S.F. Leavine, and daughters, Desta Frances and Pauline Carol, on October 22, 1965. – Information via convocation programs.

General note

Dr. Henry Ronald North "Ron" Eydt joined the University of Waterloo in 1964 as Warden of Residences. He held this position for 30 years. Over the course of his career at the University, Dr. Eydt also served as the Undergraduate Officer and Associate Chair in the Department of Biology and one term as Associate Dean of Science.
