General note

Video-Q marketplace television was a division of CAP Communications; it was a point-of-purchase selling aid (see 1984 annual report).
Carl A. Pollock and the development of humidifiers: he patented a design for home/office humidifers in 1937; wanted to describe product as an air conditioner because it circulated, filtered, and cleaned the air, but Canadian government ruling stated that products could only be called air conditioners if they also cooled the air. Eventually the product was called the Humidaire (which became generic name for humidifier) (Stanton, p. 52).
