Advertising : Working Files : Display and Communications

Series consists of material used in the production of advertisements for display and communications products, including data and video display monitors, educational receiver/monitors, satellite receivers, Telidon videotex terminals, and accessories for these products. Includes photographs, negatives, and other visual material, as well as final versions of product literature and news releases. Most of the material was used for the production of single-sheet advertisements intended for insertion into a portfolio with other product literature.

Series consists of categorized hanging pages and boxes of slides primarily concerned with natural features, buildings and programs associated with Grand River Conservation Authority conservation areas. Also contains slides relating to GRCA water management and land use programs and general topics such as conservation techniques, educational programs and the Grand Valley Conservation Foundation.

The slides are organized topically in hanging pages. A ts. listing of the slide collection by topic including alphabetical codes to the storage system is included. The slides are in no particular order within each topical section; some of the slides are not present.

Historical, Topical Files: News Clippings.

This series includes news clippings from The Globe and Mail, from the Kitchener-Waterloo Record, and from The Waterloo Chronicle. These clippings relate to educational issues. Some of them are relevant to educational matters at a national level e.g some articles report on the educational system in Canada, while anoher article focuses on the likely impact of computers for schools in Canada. Other clippings report on educational issues at a provincial level e.g. Ontario teachers' actions to oppose the anti-strike legislation in 1973. Moreover, some clippings relate to the activities of the Federation of Women Teachers' Associations of Ontario. Finally, this series contains news clippings which relate to educational affairs in Waterloo County including the activities of the Waterloo County Board of Education, and the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association.

Series consists of manuscripts and galley proofs prepared for publications and other research reports and papers by Dendy.
This includes a photocopy of a preliminary report, which Dendy wrote for the National Historic Sites Service in Ottawa re the 1968 Archaelogical Excavations Conducted at Fort Beausejour National Historic Park, Aulac, New Brunswick. It also includes a ts. draft of a research paper presented by Dendy entitled "The Background of Modernism in Toronto". Finally, Series consists of several sections of the galley proofs prepared for the revised and expanded edition of Lost Toronto which was published in 1993, in addition to a list of the photographs used in the first edition of this work (1978).

This series contains correspondence sent by or received by Mary Johnston as well as other administrative and legal documents maintained by her relating to the activities and affairs of the teachers' organizations of which she was a member. These include the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario, The Federation of Women Teachers' Associations of Ontario, the Waterloo County Board of Education, and the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association.

This series also includes materials maintained by Mary Johnston when she worked for the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association in various capacitites including Key Teacher, President of Unit 1, as a W.C.W.T.A. Past President, as the association's County Adviser and P.R., and as a member of the Book Project Committee.

Series consists of television advertisements for Dare Foods Limited cookie, cracker and candy products. Television commercials were produced by MacLaren Advertising, Media House Productions, Enterprise Advertising, Benton & Bowles, D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles Canada Inc., TQS le mouton noir de la télé, and Télé-Métropole Inc. Commercials were broadcast throughout Canada, the United States, Japan and Germany and are in French, English, Spanish, Japanese and German. Series includes film reels, videocassettes, a CD-ROM and colour photographs.
