Several press clippings and news releases are related to accusations brought against Telegdi by Conservative party candidates during the election campaign. Telegdi was accused of making a racial slur when he served as the President of the Federation of Students (now the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association) at the University of Waterloo in 1974. Telegdi’s remarks from 1974 were quoted in a campus newspaper at the time.

Peace Tower flag-lowering.

Material created or accumulated by Andrew Telegdi during his tenure as a Member of Parliament related to the decision to lower the Peace Tower (also known as the Tower of Victory and Peace) flag following the death of a Canadian solider in a war zone. Telegdi publicly supported the decision to lower the flag and introduced a private members’ motion to suggest the government lower the flag on Peace Tower to half-staff for the day following the death of a solider and that a moment of silence be observed in the House of Commons on the same day.
