Peace Tower flag-lowering.

Material created or accumulated by Andrew Telegdi during his tenure as a Member of Parliament related to the decision to lower the Peace Tower (also known as the Tower of Victory and Peace) flag following the death of a Canadian solider in a war zone. Telegdi publicly supported the decision to lower the flag and introduced a private members’ motion to suggest the government lower the flag on Peace Tower to half-staff for the day following the death of a solider and that a moment of silence be observed in the House of Commons on the same day. Records include notes, correspondence, and copies of an official statement (also known as an SO31) and a point of order delivered by Telegdi in the House of Commons related to this issue.
