General note
Nellie McClung, born October 2, 1873-September 1, 1951, was a Canadian author, politician, and suffragette activist. She was one of the "Famous 5" women who petitioned the Supreme Court to have women declared persons, making them eligible for public office. She is also known as a supporter of Alberta's Sexual Sterilization Act, which promoted the involuntary sterilization of people considered 'mentally deficient'. Her promotion of eugenics stems from her belief in white supremacy. Printed for Women's Kit OISE.
