        Photo caption from published version of 79-0023-2-8_001: "Winter 1961: Dr. Bill Dyck and Dr. Jim McKegney try out the university's first language lab. A faculty of arts had existed for less than a year, and its first building - Arts I, now called Modern Languages - would not open until 1962. Among the original 54 arts students, taught by a dozen professors, were the first women to study at Waterloo."
