"Teaching Culture in a Time of Terror" is a paper presented by Stan at the XI International Conference on Arts and Culture in March 2001 in Havana, Cuba. During his time in Cuba at the conference, Stan began writing writing notes for "The Venus of the Malecon" which references his time in Cuba.

Includes notes (52 pages, typed and handwritten) about John Dickinson written by Stan; one essay titled "John Dickinson and the American Revolution" by Stan from the Summer 1975 volume of Historical Reflections, and a small book titled "The House on Jones Neck" by J.H. Powell for the Dickinson Mansion (26 pages). Also included in the file is an unattributed poem.

two drafts of essay titled "Cabinet-making and Expressive Form, 1760-1790" (34 pages each, typed, one copy with handwritten corrections by Stan) presented at a 1977 ASA meeting;
one photocopy of an article (six pages) written by Stan Johannesen from Canadian Collector magazine titled "Unknown Furniture Master of Waterloo County";
one book review of Peter H. Wood's "Black Majority: Negroes in Colonial South Carolina from 1670 through the Stono Rebellion" written by Stan from William and Mary Quarterly, April 1975; and
*one photocopy of an essay titled "Cultural Accommodation in Mid-colonies Chairs, 1695-1942".
