Philip, dated June 2, 1947: "Dear Roberts, With the supposed superiority of the organizing ability applied to the Thames Valley they do not appear to have been as successful as in our local effort. Roberts concerning a reply: "Dear Roberts, re attached Hespeler letter I have telephoned the town clerk stating the steps necessary to accomplish their objective. and suggesting they call a meeting of the interested municipalities to meet our Executive, when the matter can be thrashed out. We should encourage this."

Abbot of the Smithsonian Institution concerning his theory that sun spots cause varying degrees of rainfall and droughts, of which W. Philip notes: "I am very much interested in this theory and want to have positive information." The latter correspondence includes graphs.
