Caption on the verso of the image used in the book states "Peter McArthur's log house now in the Pioneer Village, near Doon. Note overhang on both sides which is a very rare type of construction". Also includes a handwritten note regarding the building.

Six images of a Pennsylvania Dutch banked barn that belonged to Johannes Schmidt ca. 1809 and is now owned by Black Creek Pioneer Village. One image appeared in the first edition of Rempel's book, three appeared in the second edition of his book, and two did not appear in either edition.
