Materials related to the organization of the India-Canada workshop and conference “Accommodating diversity: learning from the Indian and Canadian Experiences” at the University of Waterloo, which was ultimately cancelled due to the Government of India's objections. Includes budgets, proposal to the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute for a Grant from the Development Initiatives Fund, memorandum of agreement, forms for sponsored research activities, participant evaluation, proposed schedule and list of participants, interdisciplinary grants program, and notes for the organization of the conference, correspondence about the cancellation and photocopies of newspaper clippings about the cancellation.
Also contains correspondence, registration form, and programme of the event “Democracy and Civil Society in Asia: the emerging opportunities and challenges” organized by the Centre for the Study of Democracy at Queen’s University; and a printout of “Developing a framework for the study of diversity in education as a component of the reform programme of the Delhi Government Schools.”
