This ledger contains Tobias Schantz's business and personal accounts for the period 1866-1869. Empty space in the ledger has been filled in between 1917 and 1922 with Tobias' orders taken for nursery stock from E.D. Smith Co., from J.N. Wismer, Nurseryman, Port Elgin, and from Brown Brothers Company, for all of whom he acted as an agent. He includes the name, address and varieties of plant stock ordered. This ledger documents how people lived their daily lives and what money was spent on.

A small box containing a number of ephemeral items and keepsakes, including the following: Salvation Army ribbon, small paper doll of a Japanese figure dressed in silk kimono, small bonnet printed on cloth, flannelette needle case, two hand-made concert programmes made of birch-bark, key on a red cord, small hand-made inscribed valentine, one Christian Endeavour folder of "Prayer Meeting Topics for 1895-96" with active member pledge card signed by Florence, and small bits of ribbon.

Memorandum Book: Cochran & Co., New York.

One small leather-bound booklet with inscription "From J.N. Moyer to his Nephew Orpheus Moyer Schantz, Campden, Lincoln Co., Ont., 5th April, 1869. This booklet is the "annual circular" of the Cochran Co. and alternates blank pages with a catalogue of dry goods carried. Orpheus Schantz began to use this as a drawing book in 1878, and it contains drawings in pencil of animals both domestic and foreign, each signed and dated.

Two Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Calendars, both colour, for 1898 and 1900. The 1898 calendar is illustrated with the heads of four children singing while the 1900 calendar features four children, one in a chef's hat and apron, having tea.
