Album 2.

File consists of an album probably compiled by one or more of Martha Rieder's children. Includes snapshots of Martha and Talmon Henry Rieder, their children, and their family, many of them with extended family and friends. Includes snapshots taken at Felsheim, Woods Bay, Bayview Cottage, the family home on Belmont Ave in Montreal, etc. Album also includes newspaper clippings, letters to Santa from Edward and Paul Rieder, a letter from Edward to Talmon Henry Rieder, and ephemera. Some of the photographs include dates/captions, and album contains the handwriting of several different individuals.

Accrual consists of material documenting the lives, interests, and activities of members of the Rieder and Anthes families of Berlin (later Kitchener), Ontario, with a focus on Martha (Anthes) Rieder and her family. Includes correspondence, diaries, ephemera, photographs, land transactions and mortgages, agreements, clippings, ms. notes, genealogy materials, financial statements, company newsletters, membership certificates, and other personal documents.

File consists of an unaddressed letter written by Ella Anthes Cook, an unsigned letter received by Ella, and a letter and postcard received by Ella from H. Milton Cook. Postcard contains a photograph of Cook with two other men in front of a pavilion, Woodside [farm?], Waterloo.

File consists of miscellaneous snapshots, most of which were probably accumulated by Martha Rieder. Includes snapshots of Martha Rieder, her children, and grandchildren, as well as other family members and friends. Talmon Henry Rieder is present in some snapshots. Many photographs include members of the families of John C. and Carrie Breithaupt, Albert and Louisa Breithaupt, and H. Milton and Ella Anthes Cook; Alma and Eva Rieder are also present in some photographs.

Photographs were taken at Penetanguishene, Georgian Bay, on Lake Huron, Port Dalhousie and other travel destinations; at various cottages; at the Rieder home at 58 Roy Street in Kitchener; and other locations. File also includes a colour print-out of a photograph Margaret Paisley [?] and an unidentified woman.

Includes agreements (one signed, one blank), promissory notes signed by Talmon Henry Rieder, miscellaneous receipts and invoices, manuscript notes, a driver's licence and car ownership certificate, a statement of her account with Laura Weber, and a sketch of Plan 248 (highlighting lots 106, 108, 76) in the Westmount neighbourhood of Kitchener-Waterloo.

File consists of a draft letter addressed to "Gentlemen" pertaining to organizational changes in Ames Holden McCready Limited. Letter is unsigned but from the president, probably Talmon Henry Rieder. Contains manuscript revisions.

Elmer's papers.

File consists of material relating to money owed to Talmon Henry Rieder by his brother Elmer Rieder and a case between Elmer Rieder and Samuel Hessenauer heard in the Supreme Court of Alberta. Includes manuscript notes by Talmon Henry Rieder keeping accounts of money owed, a promissory note, correspondence, an assignment and a judgement roll. Also present is a snapshot of a river and adjacent land, relation to documents unknown.

Series consists of photographs, most of which were accumulated by Martha Rieder, with some accumulated by Talmon Henry Rieder and some probably by Margaret Paisley and Paul Rieder. Photographs relate predominantly to multiple generations of the Anthes and Rieder families and include formal and informal family portraits, snapshots of family and friends, and snapshots taken while visiting cottages in the Penetanguishene area.

Other subjects include: Martha and her friends at Ontario Ladies College, business associates of Talmon, the Dominion Tire Company, the Anthes Manufacturing Company, Zion Evangelical Church events and groups, the Kitchener Natatorium, and other subjects. Many photographs from the period 1895-1906 were taken and possibly developed by Martha Rieder.

Series contains eight portraits (plus two duplicates) by Notman & Son, Montreal, all of which are in very good condition; and many portraits by James Esson of Preston. Includes loose photographs, photograph albums, and negatives.
