Five of the plates show images of Arthur Schantz, Eli Brubacher and Herbert Schantz, Franklin Abram Schantz and Edgar Clemens that are recognizable from positives elsewhere in the fonds. They are possibly from when Arthur was working for Schneuker photography studio. The remaining images are of unidentified portraits. Images were originally housed in a box of "Stanley" brand dry plate negatives.

The mount is dated September 30, 1899 and includes two lines from the poem, Seven Times One by Jean Ingelow: “I've said my seven times over and over; Seven times one are seven.”
