Included are poetry about Kansas, items about Britain's and Germany's Royal families, fashion items, and sentimental pictures and poems. The scrapbook-maker has employed gilt and silver labels from cloth and embroidery thread to provide fancy borders for some items. Some loose pages and clippings are present, as well as loose manuscript transcriptions, with music, of four hymns, "The Ransomed of the Lord," ?A Golden Harp in Glory," "I Will Sing for Jesus" and "Never be Afraid," signed by Etta Lydia Mary White (nee Schantz). The centre pages for recording births, marriages, and deaths, have been filled in with information on the children of Tobias and Mary Schantz, up to the birth of Dorothy Etta Russell (nee White) in 1900.
