Series consists of records relating to the organization and promotion of activities of the COAA, and in particular to workshops, exhibitions, sketching trips, field trips, and social events organized by the association. The material was accumulated by various individuals in the association and is not comprehensive as most records are from the 1970s through the mid-1990s. Series includes: flyers, brochures, announcements, programs, exhibitors' catalogues, correspondence, registration forms, membership lists, handwritten notes, newsletters, minutes, budgets, ephemera, and other material.

File consists of material relating to the organization of the annual juried show of the COAA, called Crossection, for the years 1979 to 1997. Includes flyers, brochures and invitations (some drafts); correspondence (some drafts); entry forms and guidelines; lists of entries and award winners; jurors' remarks; handwritten notes, etc. [Does not include all of these items for each year.]

Series consists of records relating to the administration of the COAA and to the association membership, accumulated by various individuals in the association. Records primarily relate to the development of the constitution and by-laws, the maintenance of membership lists for the COAA and for the association's teachers' council, and to some specific positions and committees: president, secretary, secretary-treasurer, and program committee. Series includes correspondence; membership lists; minutes of annual, executive, and teachers' council meetings (including the original minute book); the association constitution and by-laws (as well as drafts of these); reports; notebooks and handwritten notes; flyers, event programs, and exhibitors' lists; and other material. The series is not comprehensive in that not all years are equally documented and not all aspects of the association's administration and governance are represented in the records.

File consists of some material relating to one or several art weekends at Geneva Park: a brochure, a program and workshop participant lists, and handwritten notes from an annual meeting. Series consists primarily of issues of the newsletter produced by the association for its membership. The newsletter contains association reports, announcements of upcoming events and exhibitions, information and tips on art techniques and materials, reports from other art associations and organizations, advertisements, etc. Most issues also contain a list of the association executive and advisory directors. Series includes issues of the Five Counties Art Association Bulletin (1955-1964), Central Ontario Art Association Bulletin (1964-1970), and the Central Ontario Art Association Newsletter (1982-1998). Series also includes page proofs (i.e. before photocopying) of newsletter issues (1982-1998), correspondence and memoranda, brochures and flyers, photographs, and handwritten notes. It is not clear whether every issue of the newsletter produced is present in the series.

File consists of material relating to the Canadian Fine Art World Guide on CD-ROM. Contains printed and photocopied information and a diskette containing a demonstration of the program.

Includes incoming and outgoing correspondence, newspaper clippings, politicians' statements given at the Legislative Assebmly of Ontario, transcripts of parliamentary committee meetings (Standing Committee on Social Development), newsletters, fliers, etc. File also contains copies of the Act to Establish the McMichael Canadian Collection (1972) and the Act to amend the McMichael Canadian Collection Act (1981). File probably belonged to Oreen Campbell and most correspondence belongs to Campbell, but some correspondence is also addressed to Doris Law. Includes a letter from Premier William G. Davis.

Series consists of material created, collected and accumulated for the purpose of researching and writing the history of the COAA. Most files were probably kept or acquired by Oreen Campbell, who was responsible for writing the history of the association during the 1980s. Includes files containing items removed from elsewhere in the fonds for the purpose of gathering key documents for the association's history and especially those containing information about important decisions and developments. Series includes correspondence, typed histories (including draft versions), flyers, announcements, membership lists, newsletters, exhibition catalogues, reports, minutes, lectures, articles, clippings, photographs, the association constitution and procedures manual, and other material.

Fonds consists of records documenting most aspects of the development of the Central Ontario Art Association, the events and activities of the association, and its administration and membership in the period from its formation in 1954 to about 2000, with some gaps in coverage. The records were accumulated by various members and some organization was imposed by the association for the purpose of researching its history.
