Emma travels to Washington after visiting friends in New York city and her diary details her tourist activities in both cities. In Washington she meets President Arthur as well as Blanche K. Bruce the first Black Senator, Frederick Douglass, Belva Lockwood, Helen Gougar, Susan B. Anthony and others. Along with shopping, visiting acquaintances and attending social functions, in early March of 1884 Emma begins to attend suffrage meetings which are detailed in the diary.

A small notebook containing clippings of reviews, advertisements, and articles from Journal des Bals, La Danse and manuscripts of articles by G. Desrat regarding various types of dance (such as ancient Greek dancing, Scottish dancing, the cotillion, waltz, minuet, and the quadrille), along with handwritten notes. Also included in the fonds are three leaves of documents relating to the origin of the notebook and sources of the article clippings contained inside.

A flying log book issued to Cameron Hill by the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. The log book contains multiple entries written by Cameron recording details of flights and operations he participated in between May and September 1942.

A Wartime Log.

A log book published by the War Prisoners Aid of the Young Men's Christian Association in Geneva, Switzerland and given to Cameron Hill while he was a prisoner of war during the Second World War. Includes the original letter sent with the book to Cameron Hill by the Young Men's Christian Association.

Cameron filled the log book with poetry, diary entries, lists of rations, excerpts from correspondence, contact information for fellow prisoners of war that he met, and artwork completed by himself or other prisoners of war. In addition, Cameron pasted greeting cards, a photograph as well as Italian and German prisoner of war camp vouchers into the book.

Inside a pocket adhered to the back cover of the log book, Cameron stored additional items he accumulated before and after he was captured as a prisoner of war. This includes a Royal Canadian Air Force leave or pass form issued to Cameron in Halifax, Nova Scotia as well as cinema and opera house tickets for shows in England and a ticket from Iceland for an unknown event or activity. In addition, the pocket contains a Christmas card from the Vatican dated to 1942, an additional memorandum book filled with diary entries, Italian stamps, loose notes, a postal censorship slip, 1 Deutsche Mark, and a 10 Belgian franc banknote.

Travel diary written by Mary Ham to record her experience travelling and working as a camp counselor in western Canada during the summer of 1949. Diary entries were written chronologically by date and describe Mary's experiences over the course of one day. The diary is incomplete as the entries end on August 11, 1949 while Mary is still in Alberta, Canada subsequently leaving no record of her travels to Vancouver, British Columbia and her passage home.

A manuscript notebook that records the details of séances held by a group of individuals in Weston-super-Mare, England between April 16, 1924 and February 27, 1925. The handwritten entries in the notebook describe the manner in which a circle was opened to begin the séance, any images seen or sensed, whether or not a spirit appeared, all questions and answers made by sitters and spirits, and often include a general summation of the séance. An index featuring a list of topics raised during the séances and the name of the spirit who discussed the topic is available at the back of the notebook. Inserted between page 250 and 251 is a poem handwritten on a blue card dated February 17, 1945 and addressed to Dora written by J. & A.P. In addition, the notebook contains a photograph pasted onto the verso of the flyleaf. The photograph shows four men and eight women, possibly the members of the Spiritualist circle in Weston-super-Mare, England.

The diary includes press clippings, letters, notes, event programs, and a photograph of an adult and child. In addition, numerous entries describe events and activities related to the Second World War including an entry written on D-Day (June 6, 1944). Some of these entries contain attached items such as press clippings related to military personnel and banknotes including a 1 lire banknote issued by Italy in 1939, 5-francs Type 1942 issued by Banque de l'Algérie, a 10-AM lire banknote as well as a one shilling and a half shilling Japanese government-issued Oceanian Pound.

In addition, numerous entries describe events and activities related to the Second World War including an entry written on Victory in Europe Day (VE Day) on May 8, 1945, an entry written on Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day) on August 15, 1945 as well as entries describing food rationing, and the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt, 32nd president of the United States (1933–45). Also includes one United States Army Anti-Aircraft Command sleeve insignia. The insignia is circular with an embroidered white background, blue border, and two red capital letter A's in the centre.

Carbon typescript transcript of Arthur Lang's diary prepared as a Christmas souvenir in 1907 by T.A. Lang in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. It includes a copy of a letter from one of Arthur Lang's granddaughters, giving some family background. Arthur Lang describes the sea voyage, scenery, and passengers on trip from Montreal, through the Lachine Rapids, to Prescott, Ontario. The diary also discusses Lang’s experiences inspecting land near the townships of Ramsay, Lanark, and Dalhousie in Lanark County, Ontario.

One travel diary written by an unknown person. The diary recounts a trip to France and Switzerland, with a particular emphasis on mountain climbing in the Swiss Alps. An accompanying item of correspondence addressed to George from Vivian de Sola Pinto of Nottingham University indicates that the traveler saw a woman he presumed to by Mary Shelley in Berne, possibly dating the diary to when Shelley was living in Geneva.
