(carbon copy) of an agreement issued by the Minister of Public Works concerning percentages and amounts of capital costs payable by the Province of Ontario to the Grand River Conservation Commission for the purchase of lands, erection of works and creation of reservoir. Includes a covering letter from R.A. McAllister, Deputy Minister of Public Works to the Grand River Conservation Commission, March 19, 1943. The agreement probably relates to the construction of the Shand Dam and Reservoir.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss with other county and township councils the "advisability of organizing a conservation association throughout the territory bordering the Grand River and tributary streams and in Grey County to the north for the purpose of carrying out conservation in all its branches." Includes a memorandum from J.R. Dymond, Secretary, concerning the "Guelph Conference," forwarded to E.F. Roberts by Wm. Philip with note: "This is your baby, Roberts. "

Includes a letter dated March 12, 1945 from H.G. Acres to E.F. Roberts concerning operating procedure at the Shand Dam and the timing of raising the lake level, with the comment that "facilities for keeping track of the operations at Shand are still rather primitive on account of the lack of recording gauges..."

File consists of "M" correspondence to and from E.F. Roberts, relating to insurance, license for game birds, and general information inquiry. Includes a letter and sketch map by L.C. Meinzinger forwarded to E.F. Roberts by W. Philip, concerning the forthcoming visit of W.L. Mackenzie King, deploring the state of the Grand River at Mr. King's childhood home at Woodside, and suggesting that King and L.O. Breithaupt tour the area.

This letter is accompanied by a hand drawn plan of a proposed park on the river behind Woodside that would incorporate deep channels for fish. Mr. Philips cover letter to E.F. Roberts reads: "Dear Roberts, Enclosed in a letter from L.C. Meinzinger. Please bring before a commission meeting. It would please him to get his name in the paper and would give us another strong supporter. It would be well to be in Kitchener when Mackenzie King visits his home town."
