Seagram, Joseph Emm, 1841-1919: Canadian Wheelman's Association.

Article "C.W.A. Meet, Waterloo, July 1st and 2nd," Saturday Globe, June 22, 1895: [1]. This article concerns the annual meet of the C.W.A. [Canadian Wheelman's Association?] to be held in Waterloo, Ont. in 1895. Joseph E. Seagram was Honorary President of the Waterloo Bicycle Club and donated a horse as a prize for this meet. The article also includes two images of the Waterloo Bicycle Club Track, as well as portraits of local individuals: D. Hybner, Mayor, Berlin; Simon Snyder, Mayor, Waterloo; Waterloo Bicycle Club officers J.W. Fear, J.M. Scully, Geo. Wegenast, F.G. Hughes, A.H. Snyder, C.W. Wells; also W.G. Roos, C.H. Froelich.

Seagram Family

Little Long Lac.

File consists of forty photographs, primarily postcards, and one Christmas card, showing views of Little Long Lac, Geraldton, and surrounding areas. Shots include the gold mine, downtown Geraldton, school in Little Long Lac, Baxton's Point, the hospital, Little Long Lac bridge, Nipigon, a dog sled, the visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, a bush fire, and more. Jane Urquhart was born in Little Long Lac where her parents moved in the early 1930's.

Two scrapbooks, the first compiled by Damaris Smith containing clippings, engravings, stamps and seals, obituaries and biographies of prominent suffragists, literary, political and social women, some British. The second, compiled by her daughter Gertrude, contains an article written by Damaris Smith entitled "Pioneer Wife". As well, it documents the history of the Smith family and contains photographs and a pencil sketch of the "Mountain Hall" homestead.

Two of the photos, taken by the Kitchener-Waterloo Record, show Leavine in his office and at awards ceremony in honour of George W. Quick's service to the Kitchener Fire Department. The third photo, taken by Ontario Department of Travel and Publicity, Parliament Buildings, Toronto, Ont., shows Leavine as part of a group in the offices of the Minister of Planning and Development of the Province of Ontario, Hon. William McAdam Nickle.
