Part of Andrew Telegdi fonds.
Material created or accumulated by Andrew Telegdi during his tenure as a Member of Parliament related to Telegdi’s open call for a Liberal leadership convention to remove Jean Chrétien, Prime Minister of Canada, as party leader in 2002. Also includes material related to a public debate between Telegdi and Warren Kinsella, a Canadian lawyer, and Liberal Party activist. Telegdi believed Jean Chrétien used Kinsella to intimidate Members of Parliament who wanted Paul Martin to become the new leader of the Liberal Party. At the time, Paul Martin served as a Member of Parliament representing LaSalle—Émard and Minister of Finance. Records include press articles, correspondence, news releases, an article possibly written by Telegdi regarding demands for the disclosure of Paul Martin's donations for a future leadership campaign, and multiple drafts of an article titled, Canada Needs a Leadership Convention written by Telegdi.
