The verso is inscribed "Aunt Etta, Merry Christmas from Ruth." 1900 shows a photograph of Ruth Schantz and is inscribed "A Happy Year! 1900." The two lines from the poem are, “I've said my seven times over and over; Seven times one are seven.”
