Material accumulated by Andrew Telegdi during his tenure as a Member of Parliament related to Telegdi’s visit to the Republic of Hungary on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Fight for Freedom. Telegdi visited Hungary between October 10-14, 2006. Records include invitations, programs, and briefing books containing itineraries, country profile sheets, press clippings, objectives, and information on the Parliament of Hungary and the chronology of parliamentary exchanges between Canada and Hungary. Postcards contain views of numerous European cities and landforms (including Binz, Potsdam, Oberammergau, Berlin, Wittenberg, Lucerne, the Rhine, and the Alps), as well as views along the Canadian Pacific Railway in British Columbia and Alberta (photographed by Byron Harmon) and the Columbia River Highway in Oregon (photographed by Cross & Dimmitt), and views of Banff, the Rocky Mountains, Stratford (Ontario), and other places and scenes. Some duplicates are present. Six postcards contain a stamp (four German, one Canadian, and one Czechoslovakian). Two postcards were sent through the mail; one from Keffer to his wife, and one from Max [last name illegible] to Keffer (in German). Six of the postcards were published by Valentine & Sons.

Scrapbook of manuscript notes, clippings, leaflets, handbills and other ephemera concerning the local government in London, England, from 1886 to 1892. Some of the clippings are accompanied by handwritten annotations. The scrapbook has a front pocket that holds several loose-leaf notes, clippings, and pamphlets.

Clippings cover a wide range of topics concerning the London County Council and Kensington Parliament such as meetings, motions, tax reforms, public addresses, as well as news about the law and parliamentary committees.

One travel diary written by an unknown person. The diary recounts a trip to France and Switzerland, with a particular emphasis on mountain climbing in the Swiss Alps. An accompanying item of correspondence addressed to George from Vivian de Sola Pinto of Nottingham University indicates that the traveler saw a woman he presumed to by Mary Shelley in Berne, possibly dating the diary to when Shelley was living in Geneva.
