These include the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario, The Federation of Women Teachers' Associations of Ontario, the Waterloo County Board of Education, and the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association.

This series also includes materials maintained by Mary Johnston when she worked for the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association in various capacitites including Key Teacher, President of Unit 1, as a W.C.W.T.A. Past President, as the association's County Adviser and P.R., and as a member of the Book Project Committee.

Also includes a committee report dated May, 1982 on the subject of lunch hour supervision in the elementary schools, as well as an Information Report for Pilot French Program (May 1982) and a School Based Survey Report (April 1983). It also includes the transcript of a presentation hosted by the board. Other items include a salary proposal of the board for elementary teachers dated Nov. 1969.

Contains minutes, meeting agenda, committee reports and other supporting documents produced for the W.C.W.T.A. North Unit Spring Dinner Meetings in 1988 and in 1991. Also includes the agenda for a north unit executive in/out meeting which took place on June 9, 1994, in addition to a status of women committee report to the north unit W.C.W.T.A. (dated April 1998). Finally, this file includes the minutes of a north unit fall business meeting in October 1997 and the agendas for north unit business meetings in Oct., 1987 and in April 1998.

This series includes materials relating to the annual dinners of the Federation of Women Teachers' Associations of Ontario, of the Ontario Teachers' Federation, and of the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association. These materials include a small number of col. photographs, as well as booklets produced for guests who attended these dinners. The contents of these booklets vary depending on the organization involved but typically include menus, programs, agendas, biographical notes on retiring teachers to be honoured at these dinners, as well as lists of past presidents, executive members, committtee chairs, key teachers, twenty-five year members, and retiring members. Some files just include flyers which were sent out to organization members featuring details of the date, location etc. of these annual dinners.

Also includes a seating plan for an O.T.F. annual meeting held Aug. 20-23, 1985, as well as the "Report of the Teacher Representaives to the Biennial Review Committee on Teachers' Superannuation to the O.T.F. Board of Governor's Annual Meeting, August 20-23, 1985".

This series includes news clippings from The Globe and Mail, from the Kitchener-Waterloo Record, and from The Waterloo Chronicle. These clippings relate to educational issues. Some of them are relevant to educational matters at a national level e.g some articles report on the educational system in Canada, while anoher article focuses on the likely impact of computers for schools in Canada. Other clippings report on educational issues at a provincial level e.g. Ontario teachers' actions to oppose the anti-strike legislation in 1973. Moreover, some clippings relate to the activities of the Federation of Women Teachers' Associations of Ontario. Contains article (The Record, Monday, 17 April 1995, sec. D, p. 1) which reports on the finances of the Waterloo public school board vis-à-vis the separate school board. Other articles contained in this section of the Record focus on the proposal that the Education Act be amended to allow instructors who are not certified teachers to supervise students under specified conditions and circumstances and to deliver certain non-academic programs, while the other article reports that the Open Sesame head-start pre-school is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

This series contains twenty-three scrapbooks all of which are assigned individual file numbers. The first sixteen scrapbooks in this series have been numbered consecutively by the compiler of these scrapbooks as follows: 1-5, 7, 9, 10-11, 13-18, 20 (some scrapbooks are missing). The remaining scrapbooks have not been numbered by the compiler but also relate to W.C.W.T.A. and F.W.T.A.O. affairs and activities. These sixteen scrapbooks include materials relating to meetings, workshops, conferences, leadership courses and other events of the W.C.W.T.A. and of the F.W.T.A.O. Materials take the form of b&w and col. photographs, newsletters, meetings agendas and minutes, corrrespondence, ts. lists, reports, news clippings, and ephemera.

Contains news clippings which appeared in The Globe and Mail's "Education on Trial" feature on Dec. 28 and 29, 1992. One clipping provides statistics about the Canadian educational system, another reports that there there is no consensus in terms of what Canadians expect from schools. Another article focuses on a school in Edmonton which is "a model of self-improvement". Parents' dissatisfaction with the state-run school system forms the focus of another article, while another article focuses on the debate surrounding methods of testing students in the subjects they study.

Contains one spiral-bound volume and three booklets featuring summary reports of conference presentations and reproductions of photographs taken at the Waterloo County Principals' Conferences in 1975, 1979, 1980, and 1983. An additional spiral-bound volume for the conference of 1970 features full transcripts of conference presentations and some reproductions of photographs taken during this conference. This file also contains a leaflet produced by the Waterloo County Principals' Association to mark the association's 20th anniversary in 1989.

Equal-Opportunity Rights for Women Teachers.

Contains five news clippings. News clippings from 1980-1981 relate primarily to the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association's aim to obtain a written policy guaranteeing equal-opportunity rights for women teachers from the county board of education. One clipping from 1988 reports that the receipt of a provincial award for employment equity advances by the Waterloo county board of education is an "embarrassment". Sue Coulter, a member of this board, says that this is the case because the board has failed to live up to the honour since receiving this award.
