Programs on Toronto Architecture for CBLT MORNING, Toronto.

These videocassettes include programs re the architectural history of Toronto shown on CBLT MORNING. Dendy was a regular contributor in the fields of architecture and architechtural history for CBLT MORNING between 1985-1986.

The first program (ca. 10 mins. in duration) is entitled "Lost Horizons" and focuses on the history of the development of high rise buildings in Toronto especially commercial architecture. Dendy provides extensive commentary during this program.

The second item (about 5-10 minutes in duration) forms part of a program re Wytchwood Park which also includes commentary by Dendy re the architectural history of this neighbourhood.

These two pieces of film footage are repeated multiple times on each of these two videocassettes.

This award was presented to Dendy by the Mayor of Toronto in acknowledgement of the contribution made through his books Lost Toronto and Toronto Observed, as well as Dendy's other "efforts to maintain our interest in the past".

Certificate is signed by the Mayor of Toronto, and bears the seal of the City of Toronto, Office of the Mayor.

Other materials contained in this file include correspondence relating to Dendy's studies at Columbia University in New York, as well as correspondence relating to the planned reprint of the book Lost Toronto in the early 1990's.

Includes miscellaneous materials relating to various research and other interests of Dendy. The majority of materials, however, would seem to relate either to research Dendy conducted for publications he was working on or to consultancy work which he carrried out. Materials include correspondence, meeting agenda, issues of newsletters, ts. and ms. notes by Dendy, clippings, and ephemera. Other items include a photocopy of the finding aid to the J. Morris Woolfson collection at Public Archives Canada, as well as a catalogue of materials in the library of Ludwig Glaeser, and copies of reports re the terms of reference for Heritage Conservation District Studies of the Toronto Historical Board.
