After wondering if their letter was misplaced because it took longer than expected to arrive, he provides an update about the family's living situation indicating that his wife, Magdalena, is liking things better. He explains they will be moving into a home vacated by Brother Fink once it has been whitewashed and improved by Brother Wigand. Anthes notes he is so busy preaching and visiting families that he has to do all of his studying and writing at night. Letter from Jacob Anthes to his parents, Martin and Catharine. He shares that everyone with the exception of Sara is healthy, but that she's still going to school. He says the family is in good spirits and are speaking English well. Martha is noted as having a difficult time knowing how to cook and that until they got some new potatoes she had been relying on bread and coffee, though Anthes emphasizes that they're still better off than many others. He provides updates about the prices for various crop yields explaining that the buyers are still figuring out how things should work and that he'll rely on credit if need be to get by. Martin and Catherine are also provided updates about the building Jacob is working that is described as 42x50 with arched windows and a small tower. He concludes by noting the help of S. Eby and Mr. Gilger before asking asking Wolf is getting along.

File consists of material relating to Talmon Henry Rieder's contract with the United States Rubber Company (Canadian Consolidated Rubber Company was a subsidiary). Includes records relating to five year contracts for his position with the Canadian Consolidated Rubber Co. signed in 1910 and 1915 and the attempted negotiation of a contract in 1919 (and Rieder's subsequent resignation as president), as well as records relating to Rieder's salary recommendations for the company for 1918 and the value sharing plan of the United States Rubber Co.

Includes incoming and outgoing correspondence, signed agreements, and brochures. Correspondence is among Talmon Henry Rieder, Samuel P. Colt (president of United States Rubber Co. to 1919), Charles B. Seger (president from 1919), Homer E.
