File consists of "M" correspondence to and from E.F. Roberts, relating to insurance, license for game birds, and general information inquiry. Includes a letter and sketch map by L.C. Meinzinger forwarded to E.F. Roberts by W. Philip, concerning the forthcoming visit of W.L. Mackenzie King, deploring the state of the Grand River at Mr. King's childhood home at Woodside, and suggesting that King and L.O. Breithaupt tour the area.

This letter is accompanied by a hand drawn plan of a proposed park on the river behind Woodside that would incorporate deep channels for fish. Mr. Philips cover letter to E.F. Roberts reads: "Dear Roberts, Enclosed in a letter from L.C. Meinzinger. Please bring before a commission meeting. It would please him to get his name in the paper and would give us another strong supporter. It would be well to be in Kitchener when Mackenzie King visits his home town."

Philip, dated June 2, 1947: "Dear Roberts, With the supposed superiority of the organizing ability applied to the Thames Valley they do not appear to have been as successful as in our local effort. Weather reporting gauges and equipment : correspondence.

Two pieces of correspondence relating to weather reporting equipment. The first, dated April 28, 1947, from E.F. Roberts to W. Philip, titled "Spring run off Grand River watershed 1947" describes the single recording gauging station for the entire watershed, located in Galt. The second, dated Jan. 11, 1955, is from E.F. Roberts to Marcel Pequegnat, concerns weather reporting stations to be established. Attached is a clipping describing this as Ontario's first "organized flood warning system".
