File consist of the June 28, 1838 edition of the The Sun, London. This edition reports on the coronation of Queen Victoria.

Mr. Robertson of Strowan to Lord Mar.

One letter address to My Lord [Lord Mar] from Mr. Robertson of Strowan dated December 15, 1716. The letter gives an account of the journey through France that Robertson has taken to meet Lord Mar as well as news of his traveling companions. Also includes a later copy of the letter. Lord Mar was a major figure in the Jacobite uprising of 1715 and and fled to France shortly thereafter.

Where La Salle met Joliet.

File consists of one typescript essay by John Brown titled "Where La Salle met Joliet" which details the meeting of the two explorers and the settlement of Otinawattawa. Also includes three photographs of the settlement. [Settlement believed to be a Neutral Nation settlement North of what is now Hamilton].

A brief history of the Gondor family.

File consists of one manuscript essay on the history of the Gondor family, one of the settler families of the Niagara District. The original finding aid indicates that this was written by M.G. Sherk [i.e. Scherck].

Petition of William Warren Baldwin.

File consists of one typescript of a petition by William Warren Baldwin regarding a land grant. William Warren Baldwin was Master in Chancery and treasurer of the Law Society of Upper Canada and was appointed lieutenant colonel of the First Regiment of Durham Militia. Originally dated July 6, 1799.

File consists of one typescript of a petition of William Eadus who is desirous of obtaining a water lot to erect a wharf. Originally dated September 13, 1802.

Petition of Thomas Ingersoll.

File consists of one typescript of a petition of Thomas Ingersoll regarding a land grant. Ingersoll was lieutenant in the Niagara Dragoons and founded the town of Ingersoll. Originally dated June 11, 1800.
