Ontario government publications and miscellaneous.

Contains Ontario government publications. This includes publications of the National Capital Commission re the history of the parliament buildings in Ottawa, re heritage buildings in the National Capital Region of Canada, and re The Mile of History in Ottawa.

Other publications re the planning and design of commercial facade improvements by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing are also contained in this file. Another publication by the Ministry of Natural Resources focuses on the history of mining in Ontario. Publications by the Ontario Ministry of Culture and Recreation include a publication on historic sites, museums, galleries, and plaques in Ontario, as well as a publication entitled Historic Sketches of Ontario.

Other items include publications of the Ministry of Culture and Communications re the Ontario Heritage Bridge Program and re built heritage in schools. The annual report (1985-1986) of the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Culture, as well as a copy of Bill 176 ("An Act to provide for the Conservation, Protection and Preservation of the Heritage of Ontario") are also contained in this file. Other miscellaneous items include a road map of Ontario and various tourist guides in the form of folded flyers.

Materials include correspondence, meeting agenda, issues of newsletters, ts. and ms. notes by Dendy, clippings, and ephemera. Other items include a photocopy of the finding aid to the J. Morris Woolfson collection at Public Archives Canada, as well as a catalogue of materials in the library of Ludwig Glaeser, and copies of reports re the terms of reference for Heritage Conservation District Studies of the Toronto Historical Board.

Captions (handwritten on back of photographs) are provided in some cases. A considerable number of these photographs are reproductions obtained from Public Archives Canada, from the Ontario Archives, from the City of Toronto Archives, and from the Canadian Pacific Corporate Archives.

This file additionally includes some photocopies and photographs depciting floor plans and architectural drawings (many of these are from the Massey Collection at Public Archives Canada).

Includes one photocopy of b&w protrait photograph of Dendy as a very young man. A second b&w portrait photograph of Dendy was taken by Hodgskiss Studios in Apr. 1976. The third b&w portrait photograph of Dendy appears in his passport, which was issued in 1981, and is also among the items included in this file.

Programs on Toronto Architecture for CBLT MORNING, Toronto.

These videocassettes include programs re the architectural history of Toronto shown on CBLT MORNING. Dendy was a regular contributor in the fields of architecture and architechtural history for CBLT MORNING between 1985-1986.

The first program (ca. 10 mins. in duration) is entitled "Lost Horizons" and focuses on the history of the development of high rise buildings in Toronto especially commercial architecture. Dendy provides extensive commentary during this program.

The second item (about 5-10 minutes in duration) forms part of a program re Wytchwood Park which also includes commentary by Dendy re the architectural history of this neighbourhood.

These two pieces of film footage are repeated multiple times on each of these two videocassettes.

Includes books, booklets, pamphlets, folded flyers, reports, ms. notes etc. These materials relate to at least one of the following areas: the history of a city or a region of Canada, heritage subjects, the architectural history of a specific building or area of Canada. These materials are relevant to the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

Many publications of the British Columbia Heritage Trust are contained in this file. This includes the Technical Paper Series which focuses on specialized heritage subjects within a British Columbian context. Some annual reports of the British Columbia Heritage Trust are also contained in this file. Some b&w photographs received by Dendy from the Dept.of National Defence are also contained in this file. However, the subject of these photographs is not described. Finally, this file contains some postcards depicting historic sites and buildings in Nova Scotia and murals in British Columbia.

Includes untitled loose materials in the form of photocopies of finding aids from Public Archives Canada. The collections to which these finding aids relate include the Dobush, Stewart, Hein collection (1951-1978), the Beach Foundry Ltd. collection (1894-1980), and the Ben Albert Dore collection (1904-1930).
